First Post! [May. 22nd, 2008|01:01 am]
NW Letterboxing

Hello All! I live in Eugene, and want to get back into Letterboxing. I loved it when I lived in Michigan, but I haven't been able to so far. I'll be designing my new stamp this week, and will post pictures. In the mean time, if anyone is in my neck of the woods on a weekend and wants to hike and stamp, be sure to post! I check all the time! Pleased to make everyone's acquaintance.

Any Portlanders want to go letterboxing with me and my little cousin tomorrow morning? We are leaving at 10am, and we will be out for about three hours. I could pick you up anywhere from Mount Tabor to West Linn.

We are going after two of Pandora's boxes:

So,.. has anyone ever grabbed the piefight hitch hiker?
I put it out into the world about a year ago and have never gotten an email,

also,.. what happened to the lbna.org website?

Too quiet here... [Jul. 10th, 2005|10:13 pm]
NW Letterboxing

[mood |geekygeeky]

It's so quiet! I've been checking back off and on, hoping for more activity. Hopefully it will pick up in time.

Did anyone here go to the Silver Falls gathering? I missed it, but if you were there, perhaps you could give us an overview? I was in Montana at the time, visiting family. I did get to find a few boxes while there, which was nice. I had hoped to plant a couple, as there aren't many there, but the stamps I carved didn't turn out good. Sadly, I bought a type of eraser I'd never used before, and it didn't stamp well. I plan on recarving them and planting them later this summer when I go back.

I've also posted a new series of boxes on the net. They aren't on LBNA, or Atlas Quest. You'll have to do some deep digging to find the clues.... ;-)

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I'm going back to my aimless 'net surfing for a while. I'm finding all kinds of bizarre interesting sites out there...

I was wondering if anyone here attends the Oregon Country Fair outside of Eugene, OR in July?

I was thinking of making a three day only letterbox just for the ocassion at the fair. I just have to think of some place to put it where no one would find it. (I gets crazy and very very crowded; I think I would need to get permission to place it somewhere. Maybe in a booth?)

Would anyone be interested in this? Would I get anyone to stamp in?

I know there are only eight members so far, but is anyone from Eugene, OR (or surrounding areas)?

I am looking for some recomendations for boxes along the way, or for when we get there! There seems to be quite a few boxes around there.

Does anyone know if there are any on Spencer's Butte?

Oregon! [Jun. 9th, 2005|12:00 am]

[mood |awakeawake]

Another Oregonian, here, from Monmouth. My husband and I do a lot of geocaching, so I don't get out and letterbox very often (he's not really interested in it, so I usually only go when I'm by myself), but I've found a few. I actually carved my own stamp before I went and looked for my first box- the designing and carving was a lot of fun, hadn't done that since I was in 6th grade and we made linoleum block prints! The scary thing is, I still had the linoleum carving tools that my mom got for me, way back then, and they lent themselves well to rubber stamp carving, too.

Whee! Haven't hid any yet, but I'm hoping too. In, ya know, that copious free time. (hah)

Hi! [Jun. 7th, 2005|09:48 pm]
NW Letterboxing

I'm glad to see a NW letterboxing group, don't know why I didn't think of that before. ;)

I'm in Aloha, Oregon (just down the road from you, Becca!) and am new to letterboxing. I mostly go out with my partner and our daughter, but when they're busy, it would be great to have someone else to go with. Or we can all go together! My daughter is 14, so she's fun to have along. :)

Thanks for starting this group. It'll be a great place to post some WOM clues, too.
